Advanced Medical for the Non-Medic About This Course: Having an advanced understanding of medical conditions, pharmaceuticals, diseases, and non-traumatic injuries can help you better understand when to seek advanced care and when you might be able to treat yourself at home. In addition, if you ever find yourself in some sort of apocalyptic situation, shipwreck, lost in the wilderness, etc….knowing advanced medical skills can be the difference between life and death. The knowledge and skills in this class are extremely applicable to anyone who goes on mission trips or serves in disaster rescue situations. Taught by a highly experienced medical doctor, this is a fast paced and mentally demanding course. Regardless of your current medical skill set you will learn new things. Topics include but not limited to: · Diseases · Conditions · Infections · Non-traumatic injuries · Prescription Medication · Over-the-counter Medication · Patient Movement · Patient Evaluations Equipment required: Pen and Paper to take extensive notes Prerequisites: None Notes: This course is open to participants as young as 14 with a parent also attending.
