Introduction to Medical Emergencies
About This Course:
What do you do if your family member, friend, or co-worker suddenly experiences a medical emergency? Do you know how to access the situation and provide treatment prior to the ambulance arriving? Can you keep them alive until more definitive treatment is available? Many medical emergencies can result in fatality before the ambulance arrives.
Understanding a few key treatment options will allow you to increase the chance of survival. Knowing what to tell the medics when they do arrive will help reduce their time on scene, allowing the patient to arrive at the hospital quicker. Many first aid courses focus on what to do in the event of trauma, but don’t adequately prepare people in the event of non-trauma medical emergencies.
This course will cover what to do in the event of:
Scene Preparation
Dealing with Bystanders
Asthma Attacks
Seizures
