
About This Course:
This course is designed for rifle owners who wish to enhance their skills and proficiency in precision shooting at extended distances. This comprehensive course is tailored to equip participants with the knowledge, techniques, and mindset required to engage targets accurately and consistently at long ranges.
Topics Include:
Ballistics and External Factors: Students will gain a deep understanding of long-range ballistics, wind estimation, environmental effects, and other external factors that impact bullet flight. They will learn how to apply this knowledge to make accurate adjustments for various shooting scenarios.
Shooting techniques, including body positioning, breathing control, trigger control, follow-through, and sight picture refinement. Students will practice these techniques to enhance their overall shooting performance.
Data Analysis and Record Keeping: Students will learn the importance of data analysis and record keeping for long-range shooting. They will explore methods for tracking shot placement, calculating adjustments, and maintaining comprehensive shooting logs to refine their shooting skills over time.
Zeroing and Optic Maximization: Students will learn how to zero, confirm, and then utilize the full features or their optic
Equipment Required:
Rifle with sling (all platforms are acceptable. Most students bring a bolt action in .308 or 6.5c)
All sighting platforms are acceptable (optic with Mil or MOA reticle recommended but not required)
Approximately 200 rounds of ammunition (see list below for recommended types) We have noticed several issues with handloaded ammunition. Therefore for this course you MUST use factory ammunition.
Eye and Ear protection
Sand Socks (Socks filled with sand, beads, corn, etc to support rifle stock)
Rifle bipod
Applied Ballistics App (available in app store for 29.99)
Equipment Optional:
Spotting scope and/or binoculars
Tripod (standing/kneeling weapon support)

Prerequisites:
A solid understanding of your weapon platform and full familiarity and compliance with firearm safety.
A willingness to break old shooting habits and learn new.
Note:
This course will go out to 400 yards, but will teach accuracy and precision allowing the shooter to apply the same techniques to longer ranges.
The course will start in the classroom to discuss ballistics, windage, etc before going to the range that afternoon. Do NOT go directly to the range.
